Written By: Ekine Stronghold

President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), her Excellency Ibinabo Fiberesima was honored yesterday by city people entertainment awards. This is in recognition for her huge role in upgrading the image of the Nigerian motion picture industry, popularly called nollywood and her impact in leadership and her provision of welfare packages for not just her members but nollywood practitioners as a whole.

In her thank you speech she said “This is proof that hard work pays. To be in the creative industry is quite difficult” she went further to solicit for unity amongst all actors. “Whether you are a Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo or  English actor let us all love each other, let us continue to look after each other, we are not a political party so going to the press and running us down everyday will not take us anywhere, I am here to serve and will continue to do so”.

She also thanked the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his contribution to the AGN benevolence fund and encouraged other well meaning Nigerians to do same as they have lots of members that need help. Shockingly she thanked actor Emeka Rollas who was at one time her ark rival in the race for the AGN president.
