Veteran actor Osita Okeke is the latest beneficiary of the Actors’ guild of Nigeria’s benevolence fund powered by the magnanimous President of the federal republic of Nigeria Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. This development is another milestone made possible by the ever active president of the Actors guild of Nigeria Ms. Ibinabo Fiberesima. Mr.Osita who was diagnosed with pancreas and prostrate related disease was filled with gratitude and prayed for the presidents. Thanking the president he said “This woman is a man of honor, I only met her once when she invited all veterans to come and meet with her. She told us about the health plan she was working on, paid our transport to and fro the venue and even gave us extra money. When i became sick in January, my family did all they could but it was nothing close to what was needed. When I got to a point that I felt I had nobody and thought I would die I decided to just call madam president. I called her not up to three weeks ago, my brother you say you are nollywood television look at the result, look at the result. She has taken charge of everything, paid up all the bills even the one we paid before she refunded us, wont God will bless her? If this is how presidents are then madam must be president for life ada di ora nma, God will protect you and bless you”.

The president of Actors Guild of Nigeria Ibinabo Fiberesima in her usual publicity shy manner thanked God for giving her such a platform to affect lives and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for showing such love for nollywood not just in words but being there to assist whenever they call. She prayed that God will sustain him and bless him to do more. As usual, she prayed with the family of the veteran actor who took time to bless her and her executives.

You will recall that numerous people have benefited from the AGN’s benevolence fund. Chike Bryan president of the Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria who was down with kidney failure, Mr. Romanus Amuta popularly known as natty who had a stroke are amongst those that have recently benefited from the fund.
